Homework for the week of 4/1

*We will be reviewing your practice AP exam in class this week, so the following is homework for Monday through Friday:


  • Ch. 1-7 of Catcher in the Rye due next Monday
  • Work on assigned thread in journal as you read
  • Discussion board due by Sunday night: If you really want to have fun, click HERE for some 1950s slang!
  • Purchase 5 Steps to a 5 if not already done so

Homework for the week of 3/18

Monday and Tuesday:

  • Draft #1 of synthesis essay due Wednesday; bring in one copy only
Wednesday:
  • Revise and bring in clean copy of draft #2 tomorrow
Thursday:
  • Upload final draft of synthesis essay to turnitin.com by tonight; no hard copy will be collected tomorrow
Friday:
  • Complete practice AP exam for Monday, April 1st--multiple choice will NOT be counted toward your grade, so be honest and take it seriously! 
  • Purchase 5 Steps to a 5 (AP exam review book)

Monday:

  • Finish reading and summarizing sources if not done so in class.
  • Bring (new) textbook to class tomorrow.
Tuesday:
  • Read pages 162-164 in new textbook; bring to class tomorrow
Wednesday:
  • Complete synthesis planning sheet
Thursday:
  • Finish paragraph if not done so in class
Friday:
  • Rough draft of Huck synthesis essay due Wednesday

Homework for the week of 3/4

Monday-Wednesday:

  • Finish Huck Finn for Thursday
  • Word roots quiz #4 this Friday (words #30-50)
Thursday:
  • Choose the most important sentence in the novel-- the one that the novel cannot "live" without. Write down the sentence and the justification for your choice. *Note: You cannot choose "Alright then, I'll go to hell." That's too easy. :)
  • Study for words roots quiz tomorrow
Friday:
  • Synthesis essay reading--TBA
